DS: Risk Warning; Stranger Danger

Hello all,

This refers to Yatton particularly where there have been a number of incidents, however, it is worth sharing more widely in case this individual is from, or appears elsewhere in the area. You may have a nugget of information that could help?

Investigation under way into sexual offences in Yatton

Added on 09 January 2018 at 11:56
An investigation is under way into four incidents of sexual assault and exposure in Yatton which are being treated as linked.
All the incidents have happened over the past two days and involve a man inappropriately touching females or exposing himself to members of the public.
We’re issuing a description of the offender and are appealing for information from the public.
The man we want to identify is white, in his late teens/early twenties, of slim or medium build and wearing jogging bottoms or dark jeans, a grey hooded top and possibly a black scarf or balaclava.
The investigation involves the following incidents:

*At about 9.20pm on Sunday (January 7), a man exposed himself to a woman in High Street.

*A 33-year-old woman was sexually assaulted after a man grabbed her in Stowey Road at about 6.15pm yesterday (January 8).

*A man inappropriately grabbed a 14-year-old girl in Henley Park at just after 7pm yesterday.

*At just after 7.30pm yesterday, a man exposed himself to a group of teenage girls in a park off Rectory Way.
DS Adam Knee, who is leading the investigation, said: “These incidents are clearly very concerning and we’re doing everything we can to identify the offender as soon as possible.
“We’re treating all four offences as linked due to their close proximity to each other and the similar descriptions given of the offender.
“Community reassurance patrols are being carried out in the local area and we have officers carrying out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.
“We’ll be fully supporting all the victims and keeping them updated as this investigation progresses.
“If you have any information on who may be responsible or if you recognise the description we’ve issued, please call us.”
If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5218005648
