DS Risk Warning: Weather

Hello all, 

In case of activities over the weekend whether on or off site and/or for whatever you are getting up to, that weather from the East is due to return temporarily this weekend! The Met office have issued the following YELLOW warning which covers all of our customer area. The potential for snow in terms of timing seems to confine itself to the morning on Sunday and, at present, doesn't look as if its impact will hold over into Monday. 

Between 00:05 Sun 18th and 23:55 Sun 18th
Snow showers are likely to continue throughout Sunday, and where these converge some snow may well accumulate and could then prove disruptive. There is a small chance that snow may fall for a longer period across southern, and particularly south eastern regions for a time on Sunday. There is a chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel. There is a chance that power cuts will occur and services, such as mobile phone, may be affected. There is a small chance that some rural communities could become cut off.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Not all places will see snow showers, but where they do form locally 1-3 cm of snow is possible in places. Furthermore, showers may become organised into bands at times resulting in locally around 5 cm accumulating, with this most likely near the Thames Estuary and the Wash. Some melting of lying snow is expected during the middle of the day. Should the small chance of a more organised band of snow affecting the southern and south eastern regions come into fruition, a more widespread 2-5 cm could be possible here, with some low level areas seeing 10 cm. High ground could see locally 10-20 cm. Some isolated ice patches may form where run off from saturated fields freezes overnight.

Investigation under way into sexual offences in Yatton Added on 09 January 2018 at 11:56 An investigation is under way into four incidents of sexual assault and exposure in Yatton which are being treated as linked. All the incidents have happened over the past two days and involve a man inappropriately touching females or exposing himself to members of the public. DS Risk Warning: Health - Coronavirus/Covid 19

Hello all, You may well have already heard or seen that as a result of the Government's meeting today on this issue they have moved to a different level of response to the virus and its progress namely DELAY. After reading the following and reflecting on it you may come to the conclusion a communication to all staff and another to parent/carers would be timely, as soon as possible, to try to stave off issues on site tomorrow morning. With immediate effect the advice is that anyone with a new persistent cough or high temperature should self-isolate for seven days. From Friday, school trips abroad will be banned. This should trigger the ability to claim from your insurers but there's no compensation for the disappointment and lost opportunity, of course.
