250220 Hello all, The advice from Government and PHE has updated this morning: Guidance COVID-19: Specified countries and areas with implications for returning travellers or visitors arriving in the UK Published 25 February 2020 Category 1: Travellers should immediately self-isolate, even if asymptomatic, and call NHS 111 to inform of recent travel. Category 2: Travellers do not need to undertake any special measures, but if they develop symptoms they should self-isolate and call NHS 111. Hello all, PHE have issued new advice for you on the above. It is a shame it is this week, as it would have been good to get this out to your communities before they all return from the break, where applicable. I have taken extracts from it below, hence the numbering jumping about. Guidance to educational settings about COVID-19 Published 17 February 2020 8. What to do if pupils, students or staff in your childcare or educational setting have travelled from anywhere in Hubei Province, including Wuhan in the past 14 days. If an individual falls into this category, contact NHS 111 for further advice: if they are currently well they should self-isolate for 14 days after leaving Hubei province and you should follow the advice as above for contacts of confirmed cases in the educational setting if they become unwell please call NHS 111 immediately for them to be assessed by an appropriate specialist. Hello all, We hope the storm hasn't caused you too many problems. Today's news is that the Government has now announced that Coronavirus is a "serious and imminent threat" to public health. This will, no doubt, increase the numbers of you being questioned about what you are doing. As previously advised you might reply along the lines of the usual best practice of Catch It, Bin IT, Kill It including all that best practice on hand washing, cleaning common use surfaces, etc. All this alongside keeping a close eye the government's advice on compulsory and voluntary quarantine.
