DS Risk Warning: Weather AND Mass asymptomatic testing: schools and colleges Hoping you've had a good festive break. Sorry to be making contact now, but it is necessitated by a Met Office Weather warning and the government's testing programme. We note special schools will be the next focus and then primaries for the testing roll out. Yellow warning of snow affecting South West England We don't usually send out our email warnings unless an Amber or Red is issued. However, we make an exception for snow as it can pose additional challenges to normal operations. The headline is: Snow arriving from the north between 18:00 (UTC) on Wed 30 Dec 2020 and 14:00 (UTC) on Thu 31 Dec 2020. Area projected to be impacted: South West England: Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Wiltshire. Although the supporting map includes all of our operational area. It can be found here: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2020-12-30 Further details
DS Risk Warning: Weather The Met Office has issued an Amber warning for part of our operating area and a Yellow warning for more rain. The latest anti-cyclone has been named Storm Bella - details below. The Amber warning relates to: Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Storm Bella will bring disruption to travel and utilities over parts of south and southeast England and south Wales between Saturday 26th at 22.00 hrs and Sunday 27th at 09:00 hrs. As usual our advice is to ensure all drains, downpipes, gullies, etc, are clear of debris for free draining and any outdoor equipment brought in where possible or very securely weighted down. It may be opportune to also factor in timely pre and post inspections to check and double check afterwards that nothing requires urgent remedial attention. We should expect: Longer journey times and cancellations likely, as road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected Some roads and bridges likely to close Probab
