Risk Warning: Travel Disruption; Motorway and other Highways

  Bill Crocker <bill.crocker@delegatedservices.org> Hello all, A protest on parts of the M4, M5, M32 and A38 is planned for TODAY. The Police information provided says motorists are advised to take into account there will be slow-moving roadblocks. The first will see vehicles travel northbound on the M5 between Bridgwater and the Almondsbury Interchange from about 8.45am, then head east along the M4 and to junction 1 of the M32.  There the convoy is expected to exit, stop for a period of time, before conducting the same route in the opposite direction, arriving back in Bridgwater in the early afternoon. A second protest group is due to set off at 8.45am from the same location near junction 24 of the M5 and carry out a slow-moving protest along the A38 to the Bristol Road Shell garage in Bridgwater.   Hello all,   We spotted this has been updated, as follows:   The Department of Health and Social Care NHS England, and UK Health Security Agency   Have this Guidance:   Looking after children and those in early years settings during heatwaves: for teachers and professionals   It was updated 15 July 2022   It has application to England only.     Children’s susceptibility to high temperatures varies; those under 4 years of age, who are overweight, or who are taking certain medication may be at increased risk of adverse effects. Some children with disabilities or complex health needs may be more susceptible to high temperatures. The school nurse, community health practitioner, family health visitor or the child’s specialist health professional may be able to advise on the particular needs of the individual child.   Hello all, We've been waiting to see if there was yet another update to the Amber warning. At the time of sending this the position is as follows: Exceptional heat is possible for southern and central areas of the UK late this weekend and early next week, with temperatures likely in excess of 35°C in some places. An Amber Extreme heat warning , which is an impact-based warning designed to highlight impacts to protect lives, property and infrastructure, has been issued for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The first Red warning area does not affect our operational area Temperatures are likely to peak in excess of 35°C in southern, central and eastern areas of England, and more widely around 32°C within the warning area. Issued: 13:59 (UTC+1) on Mon 11 Jul 2022 You will see it refers to the coming weekend and into Monday to take into account with your on and off site activities. Delegated Services Risk Warning: Traffic and Transport Disruption

  Here's the latest from the Police all but do take into account too that there are bridge repair/inspection works ongoing at M48 bridge and from July 1, a planned closure is also set for the Severn Tunnel for more than a week, for railway maintenance work. This will affect trains between London and South Wales: Travel disruption is expected on Monday 4 July due to planned nationwide protests about the cost of fuel. Motorists are advised to plan ahead with several key routes likely to be affected, including the M4 Severn Bridge between England and Wales in both directions, ahead of the morning rush-hour. A slow-moving roadblock is also planned on the M5 between Bridgwater and the Almondsbury Interchange from about 8.30am, which is likely to head east towards Bristol via the M4 and M32.
